Faith is an underlying theme in my photos and films. I am fascinated by faith, the lengths to which people go to believe: the faith that it takes to raise a child in today's world; to leave one's country behind to build a new life in another; the faith required to marry a bride one has not yet met.

Here, an ultraorthodox couple marries in Brooklyn. The marriage takes place outside, adjacent to an elevated subway platform. Later, inside, the couple, post-vows, is “alone” for the first time (3).
